What is this?

Spread A Little Joy was originally created by me, Jonathan Mak. It started off as a personal project that involved making a series of flyers with feel-good messages and drawings printed on them, and then putting them into my neighbours’ (whom I don’t know) letter boxes, making their day just a little better (hopefully).

But as I was on to the forth flyer, I was unhappy with how long everything was taking. I mean, i know it’s called Spread A Little Joy, but I feel like I’m not making enough of an impact.

This was when this website was born. With the collective effort of all you wonderful internet people, I hope this can grow into a global movement. Here’s the premise: create something that can make other people happy, and then pass it on. You can put it somewhere where everyone can see it, you can put it inside strangers’ letter boxes, you can do it through email… the possibilities are endless. The website itself is unimportant; it’s just a collection of the work we’ve done (not that I don’t encourage submissions!). This is about making other people happy. This is about spreading a little joy, one flyer at a time.
